Broadway Grand Prix top tips from an annual passholder

Updated: Jul 3

This is the spot to be in Myrtle Beach if you have a need for speed—or if you have fun watching your more daredevil friends and family tear up the track.

Updated July 3, 2024

We checked out Myrtle Beach’s biggest go kart track experience last year for the first time, and we liked it so much that we decided to get the annual pass this year. There is so much to do at Broadway Grand Prix including rides, mini golf, arcade games, and more. While this experience is best for those over 48" there is something here for the whole family.

Here are some top tips for visiting Broadway Grand Prix from our family to yours.

tip #1 TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BLACK FRIDAY DEALS

Last year on Black Friday you could snag the "Race & Splash Pass" for Myrtle Waves and Broadway Grand Prix for a total of $149.99. The normal prices for these passes are $119.99 and $149.99, respectively, so you are saving a ton of money by taking advantage of the Black Friday prices. Grand Prix is also open for the majority of the year, so the annual pass lasts even longer than Myrtle Waves through Dec. 2024.

You can also get a weekly pass to Grand Prix for $84.99. And there’s a Local Pit Pass for $49.99 that includes an all-you-can-ride wristband for the day. After the day of purchase, the holder receives $10 off regular admission price and you also get 10% off food, beverage and retail—and up to 6 friends receive $5 off wristband price on any day.

tip #2 height matters so plan accordingly

The all-you-can-ride wristband for 48" and up is $49.99, but if you order online it's $46.99. Toddlers 36"-39" are $14.99 and kids 40"-47" are $39.99 for the wristband.

There are 7 go kart tracks, and if you're 48" you can do all of them except the Speed Racer and Slick Track. For kids under 48" there are several kiddie rides and one track for kids 40" - 47". If you have different height levels in your party, you may need to divide and conquer, at least for part of the day.

tip #3 the whole family has options

You only pay if you ride, so if there's someone in your party that doesn't want to ride they can still come and watch for free. It's awesome that the juniors load in a separate line than the "pros"/adults, so they are predominately only racing with other kids/families. Many tracks have a double kart option where the kid can ride with an adult. And they have boosters to help the kids reach the pedals more easily.

tip #4 There’s More Than Just Go Karts

Our favorite tracks are the Family Track and the High Bank Oval, and the kids can’t wait until they are tall enough for the Slick Track. But there is a lot more to do at Broadway Grand Prix than just the tracks.

There are two 18-hole mini golf courses that are also included in the wristband, and the courses are nice. Little ones can also enjoy kiddie amusement rides (Sky Wheels, Grand Prix Express, Carousel, Pro-Tow, and Slick Spin).

And there are 20,000 square feet of arcade games in the Grand Prix Arcade, which features over 90 games. Credits for game play are available for purchase in the arcade or at a discounted rate with the purchase of an all you can ride wristband.

tip #5 the souvenir cup is worth it

We very rarely get a souvenir cup but the $12.99 souvenir cup (or 2 for $11.99 or 3 or more for $9.99) has refills for $1.50 plus tax and it's good at Myrtle Waves and Broadway Grand Prix. During Black Friday, they also offered a special unlimited refill mug for $29.99. And when you are super duper hot, a freezing cold Sprite just hits different than that water you've been chugging.

The Bottom Line

Broadway Grand Prix is definitely a better fit for those over 48" but if you have a little one in your party they can still enjoy the rides and mini golf. Going in the off season when it's cooler is optimal, but we also recommend mornings and evenings during the busier and hotter summer months.
