The Best Spots at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach

Updated: Jun 28

It’s inevitable that when you ask where families should hang out in Myrtle Beach, you’ll hear Broadway at the Beach. And that’s not wrong—it’s awesome. But Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach also has so much to offer.

Here’s a breakdown of some of the best spots to eat, play, and shop that you'll love.

spots to eat

Crooked Hammock Brewery has a backyard vibe with live music, fire pits, yard games like corn hole and ping pong and—of course—cozy hammocks. The menu features cookout-inspired items like the Backyard Burger and “Grill”basa Sandwich. Adults will enjoy the Brewery Tour, bar swings and seasonal brews.

LuLu's North Myrtle Beach is known for its “Gumbo Love” and fresh coastal fare. The colorful, beachy themed restaurant features beautiful views of the Intracoastal Waterway. There’s also a packed schedule of live music—no surprise, since it’s owned by the late Jimmy Buffett’s sister, Lucy. Kids will flock to the sand and water play areas, LuLu’s Beach Arcade ($0.25-$3 a play, depending on the game), and Mountain of Youth Ropes Course (must be 48”or taller; $15 for the course and $20 for the course plus Quick Jump and $10 play card; 10% discount online).

Kids will love that it’s okay to throw peanuts on the floor at River City Café, where you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and some of the best burgers in the area. We highly recommend splitting the massive “Kitchen Sink” burger platter.

Be sure to make a reservation when you visit Blueberry’s Grill because the word is out about this exceptional brunch spot that’s open for breakfast and lunch daily. We highly recommend the pork belly eggs Benedict and the omelet with corned beef and brie. The atmosphere is classy without being stuffy, and the wraparound porch is lovely during the less sweltering months.

spots to play

There's a large nature-themed playground in Dockside Village featuring fun slides, climbers and a treehouse tower to keep kids entertained while the grownups rest in Adirondack chairs or under the shade of a massive oak. (Note: The closest restrooms are located at nearby Crooked Hammock or LuLu’s.)

There's a smaller playground in Harborwalk Village by Landshark Bar & Grill that resembles a pirate ship treehouse. Landshark also has an inviting outdoor space with corn hole and fire pits. You don’t need to dine there to access the play area.

There is a carousel, small train and bungee located at Barefoot Amusements right next to an open green space with jumbo Jenga, checkers and chess in Dockside Village. Tickets are $3 or $50 for a 20 pack. The bungee is 5 tickets, carousel is 2 tickets and train is 2 tickets.

The Dockside Village area features the Pepsi Stage amphitheater and lawn that hosts live music, outdoor movies and other events.

There are so many special events including SummerFest, SeptemberFest, OktoberFest, BooFest, Lighting of the Landing, Holiday Golf Cart Parade, Barefoot Bunny Hop, live music, fireworks and more.

Located adjacent to Barefoot Landing is Alligator Adventure, one of the largest facilities for reptiles in the world ($34.99 for adults, $24.99 for kids ages 4-12, free for kids under 3).

spots to shop

At Savannah Bee Company, you can check out the bee habitat, sample honey and lotions, and adults can try some mead while the kids chill in the cute indoor treehouse.

Black Market Minerals Myrtle Beach has beautiful, reasonably priced treasures and a lovely vibe. And there's a $1 table with really cool items kids will love.

Barefoot Landing is pet friendly, and your pup will thank you for stopping by Faux Paws and packing a $5 pick and mix bag of tasty treats.

Christmas Mouse features two stories of festive holiday spirit and is a must stop for all Christmas lovers.

If your child loves purple, Purpleologist is a must visit because every single item and decoration in the store is—you guessed it—purple.

There are so many candy shops at Barefoot but our favorite is Wee R Sweetz thanks to incredibly reasonably priced sweet treats. The kids grabbed handfuls of taffy for around $1 and we were also handed a freshly made buckeye during our visit.
